Political streamer HasanAbi has called out fellow Twitch streamer Asmongold, insinuating that he is a hypocrite for criticizing Ava Kris Tyson as he has watched a male VTuber named 'Rev says desu,' who has an avatar of a young-looking female character.

For context, many online figures have called out former MrBeast member Ava Kris Tyson for associating with lolicon content, a genre of media that focuses on a character that looks childlike or underage. While speaking on the online fallout following the Ava Kris Tyson controversy, HasanAbi called out Asmongold for watching such videos on YouTube, stating:

"It's hilarious because we are talking about Loli, we are talking about Loli and how unacceptable and inappropriate it is. Asmongold was talking about the Ava Kris Tyson situation and I don't even know if he brought up Shadman but he literally every day watches a Loli VTuber describe the latest and greatest of the Gamergate world."

HasanAbi insinuated that Asmongold is a hypocrite, saying:

"So how do you exist in this space where on the one hand you say this Loli sh*t is weird and gross while you literally watch a Loli VTuber on a daily basis?"

After watching a clip of HasanAbi criticizing him, Asmongold started countering the argument that he watches Loli content and noted that HasanAbi is referring to the fact that he has watched YouTube videos from a male VTuber named Rev who uses a female avatar:

"Hasan does this a lot where he he will exaggerate something. Like, I have obviously watched videos of VTubers, right? I am assuming he is talking about Rev, right? People have typed that to me before saying Rev is like a Loli character."

Asmongold then explained that he has no qualms with avatars that look young, but has a problem if they are used in an explicit context:

"I have looked at Rev's videos before, yeah I like the videos. I think that really, it depends on how you look at it. To me I don't think there's a problem with having an avatar of a character where it's younger. The problem is when it is sexualized."

The Twitch streamer further claimed that he was not a hypocrite as insinuated by HasanAbi, stating:

"In none of the videos that I have watched of Rev has he ever sexualized the avatar in any capacity at all, and if he did, I would say that it's wrong. So it's not really hypocritical."

Asmongold went on to talk about the points HasanAbi talked about concerning the Ava Kris Tyson scandal, noting that he has never mentioned the controversial cartoonist Shadman before:

"I did not even talk about the Shadman stuff. I didn't even know who that was. So, yeah, it's the same like, here's the thing. Hasan had this happen when he interviewed that pirate."

The streamer went on to call out HasanAbi's point about Loli content and brought up the fact that the political streamer had interviewed a supposed Houthi pirate a few months ago who had a lot of antisemitic posts on his social media account.

Asmongold claimed that just like nobody is saying HasanAbi supports antisemitism because he interviewed an antisemitic person, he is also not into Loli content because he reacted to videos of Rev says desu:

"I know that Hasan doesn't support that. And just because Hasan has a person like that on his stream, doesn't necessarily means he approves or agrees with every single thing that person says. So, I think that's the case with me and that's the case with anybody else."

The OTK co-founder concluded his argument by saying that he does not vet the content creator with a fine comb before reacting to their videos on YouTube:

"Whenever I watch a person's YouTube videos, I don't go through their social media and make sure I look at every single thing that this person has ever said or done to make sure nothing is incongruent with what my worldview is. I don't give a s**t about that."

The Ava Kris Tyson situation came to a head within a couple of days of the allegations of grooming and pedophilia going viral when the content creator announced that she was stepping away from MrBeast's team.
