Political streamer Hasan "HasanAbi" has claimed that Twitch could potentially sue Steven "Destiny" and Dan Saltman. During a livestream on December 12, 2024, HasanAbi reacted to a video of Destiny and Dan Saltman discussing a Bloomberg article reporting that advertisers had stopped advertising on the platform due to alleged anti-Semitism.
Commenting on the situation, the Turkish-American personality claimed that Destiny and Saltman orchestrated an alleged "mass email" campaign against Twitch. According to him, the emails contained "obvious falsehood":
"So, the mass email that they spammed to every f**king advertiser contained an obvious falsehood. The mass email that they spammed to every single sponsor and every single news outlet with the hopes that they can potentially get some of these advertisers to pull out. It actually contained a very obvious falsehood against Twitch."
While claiming that Bloomberg's article featured "at least three" advertisers who stopped advertising on Twitch as a "direct consequence" of the email campaigns, HasanAbi suggested that the platform could sue Destiny and Dan Saltman for the following reasons:
"Mass email campaigns that featured a direct falsehood, I suspect that Twitch could actually sue Dan Saltman and Destiny. For Dan Saltman utilizing Destiny's Discord. Utilizing Destiny's subreddit. Utilizing Destiny's community, with Destiny also hyping up these investigations. These operations over and over again, I feel like there are legal damages that you could claim. I'm just saying. I don't know. After all... I don't have this power over Twitch."

What has Dan Saltman said against Twitch?
Dan Saltman is a well-known internet personality, who co-hosts the Anything Else? podcast with Destiny. Saltman is also known for publicly criticizing Twitch and its CEO, Dan Clancy. On November 21, 2024, the content creator was banned indefinitely from the Amazon-owned platform due to "extreme harassment."
Saltman commented on the decision, claiming that the platform suspended his channel in response to his "crusade" against those who were "discriminated against" by Twitch staff.
In a now-deleted X post, Saltman wrote:
"To be clear, I have not and do not stream on Twitch. This ban for 'extreme harassment' is completely based upon my crusade for those who have been discriminated against by the biased and racist T&S team. Twitch isn't happy with the calls to Congress/advertisers I guess. Too bad!"
Furthermore, Dan Saltman accused Twitch of being "complicit with anti-Semitism."
