Twitch streamer Kai Cenat has a history of giving back to his fans and community. From participating in charity football matches to buying groceries for his people in New York, the streamer has made it a point to be philanthropic. Recently, soon after the streamer wrapped up his 100-hour plus Minecraft Hardcore stream with IShowSpeed, he conducted a giveaway on his channel in a September 4 stream.
In the stream, Kai generously gave away $100,000 to his viewers, which he'd do in ways like donating to viewers who guessed the same number he did. In addition, Kai made specific contributions, and one such instance is when he covered a viewer's college tuition, earning high praise from his fans.
The viewer, who goes by silverrruns on Twitch, interacted with Kai on stream and expressed that he's a college student, paying $7,500 for his annual tuition. In response to this, Cenat said:
"Since you so impressive, Imma give you $10,000".
Silverrruns' channel, which has about 21,000 followers as of this writing, is primarily dedicated to Minecraft speedruns and caught the attention of Kai Cenat during the giveaway. The college student showcased impressive skills while taking on the Ender Dragon, a feat that blew Cenat away.
Fans on X reacted to the situation and praised Kai for being generous. Users like @Jarzhi and @thaofficialkat commended Cenat for giving back to his community:
"He real for that, sharing the blessings".
"W Kai Cenat… always looking out for people".
Others, like @tronnniel jokingly commented on silverrruns' Minecraft gameplay, and how it contributed to the donation:
"Imma beat Minecraft so I can go to college".
@trader_olo mentioned how difficult Kai found it to beat the Ender Dragon, considering the streamer spent multiple hours fighting the Minecraft boss, implying this contributed to the donation:
"Yeah, cause Kai thought it was the hardest thing to do in the world after his stream".
Looking back at Kai Cenat's charitable endeavors
Kai has made several philanthropic efforts throughout his career, including charity streams and events. One of his notable acts of generosity occurred when he unintentionally turned a Nigerian recipient into a millionaire by donating $5,000 during a charitable initiative.
When Kai went back to his hometown in New York in August 2024, he gave back to his community and bought groceries for everyone at a local deli.
Things haven't always been as sweet though. In August 2023, Kai Cenat's planned giveaway event in New York's Union Square turned chaotic, resulting in a riot. Over 6,000 people attended, leading to police intervention, 65 arrests, and several injuries. Cenat, charged with inciting a riot and unlawful assembly, later apologized and acknowledged the influence he held over his followers.
