“He’s aligned himself with N*zis” - Fans react to Tyler Oliveira’s response to recent backlash

YouTuber Tyler Oliveira has recently been subjected to various call-out posts and videos. Among the creators who have been critical of Oliveira are Vince Vintage, Willy MacShow, and Antonio Alexander. Vintage, in particular, posted a video towards the end of 2024, accusing Oliveira of promoting right-wing or N*zi content, among a litany of other allegations.

Oliveira has, expectedly, refuted these claims. Recently, he even made an elaborate post on his YouTube community tab, addressing those who have branded him as a far-right promoter. He wrote:

"All humans are subject to countless forms of bias. Including me. The more of the world I see, the more my worldview has evolved. Most interestingly, the more I have spoken with and agreed with those branded as “far-right”, the more the left has made me their enemy."

"I will fight for those with common sense to have a voice in this world. Love me or hate me - I will give you my opinion, and you can do whatever you want with it. If that makes me a “far-right,” “fascist,” or “N*zí” then so be it."

A screenshot of this was posted to the popular r/youtubedrama community, which garnered many comments. Most of the comments in the thread ended up being critical of Tyler Oliveira. Here are some of the reactions there:

Tyler Oliveira is a self-described internet journalist. Many of his videos focus on covering various issues across America. In response, one Reddit user wrote:

"As a journalist, it is your duty to fact check and correct blatantly incorrect and harmful views, like that of far-right talking points, just interviewing, getting the questions asked and responded to, and doing nothing, is a journalistic betrayal of your duties," said u/shotxshotx

Some, however, suggested that labeling him a "N*zi" was too much:

"Tyler definitely reports in a biased way, and farms outrage to the point of being insufferable at times but calling him a fascist and a N*zi isn't accurate nor solves anything regarding this type of content," said u/Futunari-Farmer

Why is YouTuber Tyler Oliveira being criticized?

Tyler Oliveira has recently leaned toward right-wing ideologies, drawing criticism from many within the community. Vince Vintage released a video addressing this, questioning some of Oliveira's actions.

For instance, in Vintage's video, he highlights a clip from one of Oliveira's videos, where he visits a memorabilia shop. The shop reportedly featured highly questionable items, including a "N*glet scalp" and a "K*K uniform."

YouTuber WillyMacShow also uploaded a video yesterday (January 26, 2025) titled Tyler Oliveira is Unironically EVIL. The video criticizes Oliveira's investigative content and accuses him of misrepresenting charities and issues surrounding homelessness.
