Kick and YouTube streamer Steven "Destiny" has garnered a lot of backlash for his comments about the shooting at a Donald Trump rally in Pennsylvania. Known for his political content, Destiny has been called insensitive and disrespectful not just for cussing out the former president after he was shot in the ear but and also for abusing his supporters.
For context, over the weekend, former U.S. President Donald Trump was doing a rally in Pennsylvania when he was shot at. The assailant was killed by the Secret Service's return fire, but not before multiple spectators were injured, with one rally-goer passing away.
While the streaming industry has been largely sympathetic towards Donald Trump and his fallen supporter, Destiny has gone on to hurl abuses at the former president on social media. Now, a clip of the streamer cussing out Trump and his supporters has gone viral, garnering a lot of backlash.
Here are some reactions from X users who called Destiny out, with some accusing him of hate-farming and rage-baiting with his insensitive commentary:
"He’s gotta be hate farming for views or something", wrote X user DevinOX
Others made fun of Destiny for his wife leaving him and some even called on platforms to ban him:
"This is why his family left him", stated @Pulsiveee
"what’s a f*cking loser", said @PookiesParadise
"This dude shouldn’t even have a platform speaking like this. BAN HIM", said @BillPrinter00
What did Kick streamer Destiny say about Donald Trump and his supporter who died during the assassination attempt?
As per reports, a sniper had attempted to shoot Donald Trump, who was speaking on stage at a rally in Pennsylvania. While the sniper was taken down by Trump's security detail, he had managed to kill one of the rallygoers, identified as a fireman named Corey Comperatore. A GoFundMe page set up to help his family and the injured victims has already crossed $2 million in donations.
However, it seems Destiny does not share a very sympathetic view of the whole situation. In a clip, he can be heard cussing out Donald Trump and his supporters who got shot at the rally:
"F**k it, f**k the dude, the firefighter guy. F**k Trump, f**k the people that support him. I just want you to know, right? In case you are confused or whatever, if one of you were in the crowd and you are a conservative fan of mine and you get blown up or whatever, I am making fun of you the next day on Twitter."
In one of his posts about the matter, he talks about having no sympathy for Donald Trump or his supporters. In a response to Kat Kanada, he said:
"Donald Trump incited an insurrection and then was granted full criminal immunity for possibly all of his involvement. I have zero sympathy for anything that happens to him or anyone who supports him. I will argue this position against any and all conservatives of reasonable size, but there’s a reason none of you spineless hacks step outside of your echo chambers."
Destiny is not the only political streamer to face backlash for not sympathizing with Donald Trump. Popular Twitch streamer HasanAbi also received a lot of negative comments for his coverage of the incident.
