UK YouTuber, Sidemen member, and influencer boxer JJ "KSI" has opened up on the much-anticipated potential boxing match against fellow YouTuber and influencer boxer Jake Paul. Although KSI and Jake have had a rivalry since 2018, the fight never materialized due to both boxer's disagreement over the weight category.

KSI was recently invited to the High Performance podcast, during which he was asked about a potential fight against his American counterpart as well as the possibility of being friends with him in the future. Speaking on these, the Sidemen member said:

"I think with me and Jake - I mean, you never know what could happen in the future. I feel like there's this competitiveness between us, where he thinks he can beat me, I think I can beat him and it's just been unresolved. I guess, with me and Logan. we had that and then we created Prime (Hydration)."

KSI also revealed why the fight hasn't been made yet, saying:

"Everyone's been waiting for the fight between me and Jake but it's one where he is too heavy, I am too light and we are just not agreeing. But I'm at a point where I'm just gonna wait."

"Enjoy fighting heavyweights" - KSI speaks on Jake Paul wanting to fight at 195 pounds

While both Jake Paul and KSI began their influencer boxing careers in lighter-weight categories, the former recently moved up to a heavier division. He and his team have discussed fighting at a weight of 195 pounds, whereas KSI is more accustomed to competing at around 180-185 pounds.

Reacting to this, KSI, in one of his YouTube videos, said:

"No. I'm just not doing that. 185 [pounds] is the same as Tommy Fury, okay. If you can't make it, then cool. I'll just wait. Enjoy fighting heavyweights. Continue fighting heavyweights, brother. You're not a heavyweight, okay."

Moreover, echoing his thoughts from the podcast, the influencer boxer, in the same YouTube video, insisted that he was willing to play the waiting game:

"I'll just be in my own lane, do my own thing. And when you decide to finally man up or by force, essentially, because there's only so many heavyweights you can fight until you actually have to fight a real boxer. Yeah, I'll be here waiting."

KSI was scheduled to fight in the upcoming Misfits 17 boxing event on August 31, against Slim and Anthony Taylor. However, he had to withdraw from the event due to an injury. Despite this setback, the YouTuber has remained active on the Sidemen channel.
