World of Warcraft streamer and former Blizzard Entertainment employee Jason "Pirate Software" Hall recently engaged in a live discussion with Asmongold about the MMORPG Ashes of Creation. This conversation followed a disparaging video about the game by another creator, which Asmongold, lacking firsthand experience with the game, could not counter effectively.

Pirate Software, who has invested over 500 hours in Ashes of Creation, aimed to provide a more informed perspective during the live Twitch session.

The collaboration sparked a backlash from some fans, who criticized Hall for associating with Asmongold, citing past controversies. In response, the streamer addressed the criticism on X, emphasizing the importance of setting the record straight and supporting the game's developers. He stated:

"If you want to cancel me for talking to him that's fine but I would do this again given the chance. The developers don't deserve unwarranted hate."

Pirate Software defends the developers of Ashes of Creation amidst the Asmongold drama

Ashes of Creation is an upcoming sandbox MMORPG developed by Intrepid Studios. The game emphasizes a dynamic world where player actions significantly influence the environment, including the development of cities, the emergence of quests, and the progression of the narrative. Players can choose from various races and classes, engaging in PvE and PvP activities.

The game is currently in its Alpha 2 phase, with early access available to players.

On January 6, 2025, Pirate Software sat down to converse with Asmongold on Ashes of Creation, and the two shared thoughts on the game's positives. After their discussion, Asmon appreciated his fellow streamer:

"Huge shout out to Pirate Software, great guy, absolute W guy."

According to Pirate Software, Asmon's association with the Ashes of Creation caused some "unwarranted hate" for the game's developers. Hall clarified this in his X post:

"I have over 500 hours in the game and refuted the video made by the other creator. As Asmon's channel was the flashpoint for this it makes sense to talk to him about the situation and clear the air of bullshit. We did this live on Twitch the same day it happened."

In other news, World of Warcraft streamer JokerdTV has labeled fellow OnlyFangs guild member Pirate Software a "fraud" following a controversial incident during a Dire Maul North dungeon run.
