YouTube streamer Darren "IShowSpeed" has ended his attempt to break the official world record of most backflips (backward somersaults) in 24 hours. The Ohio-born streamer started his live stream yesterday (October 8, 2024), hoping to surpass the current world record of 1,001 (set by Austria's Nico Scheicher).

Despite a valiant effort, and attempts at taking rest, the streamer was unable to pull off any further backflips. For those curious, the 19-year-old completed an impressive 660 backflips in 19 hours (approximately).

Speaking of his condition, he said:

"This is the farthest I can jump. This is the best I can jump...it doesn't matter if I sleep, it doesn't matter if I sleep again, my legs are dead. I'm sorry. I'm deada** sorry. I love y'all, you stuck through. I believed I could have made it, I thought I could've made the world record but I can't jump anymore."

"This sh*t's GGs bro" - IShowSpeed reacts to his attempt at the world record for most backflips in 24 hours

IShowSpeed is recognized for his athletic skills, particularly his signature backflips. To take this stunt further, he tried to break the world record for the most backflips in 24 hours. Unfortunately, his legs didn’t hold up as he had hoped.

A few of his fans even suggested that he take an ice bath to recover, but the streamer admitted he could no longer endure the challenge. He said:

"Somebody is saying, 'Stop acting lil' bro.' Do you think I would get all the way to 660 and just stop...'cause I'm acting? (Shakes his head) People keep saying, 'Get in the ice bath,' 'Do this,' 'Do that.' This sh*t's GGs bro. It's GGs. I failed. I completely failed."

Despite fans suggesting him to eat, the streamer said:

"Eating is not gonna help my leg. Y'all just not listening. I used 100% of my leg power, chat. None of this sh*t y'all saying is gonna help."

He also said that he plans to come back:

"Don't think this is the last time I will be attempting this. In a month, or maybe in the next two months, I will be attempting this again."

Despite failing the challenge, IShowSpeed has had an eventful year. Last month, he experienced one of the most productive periods in his streaming career, embarking on his first-ever Southeast Asian tour.
