FaZe Clan's Stable Ronaldo organized a subathon on December 15, 2024, but it did not go on for very long. The uncapped subathon was designed such that time would be added to the countdown based on the number of subscriptions the channel garnered during the stream. However, Ronaldo's stream only lasted for about 12 minutes as the timer ran out despite the streamer's protests.
A subathon, or a subscriber-marathon, is essentially a 24/7 broadcast on livestreaming services like Twitch. While some of these streams have pre-determined lengths, such as Kai Cenat's month-long Mafiathon 2 marathon, an uncapped version is directly tied to the number of subscribers gained during its length.
Stable Ronaldo's recent attempt at the subathon failed to generate enough subscriptions, with the countdown reaching the 45-second mark. The streamer seemed confused about what to do next:
"Um, I can't say that it was an entertaining stream. I don't know what I'm supposed to do. I am going to make sure to read the Twitter comm after this, mods make sure you're on timing. At least we had a 13-hour stream yesterday. Unless someone wants to give 100 gifted."
As the timer counted down to 20 seconds left on the clock, Stable Ronaldo saw fellow FaZe Clan member Lacy in the chat, but it seemed too late. Even though the streamer claimed that the broadcast wouldn't end, as soon as the countdown reached 0 seconds, the stream cut off Stable Ronaldo:
"I got you Ron? Come on Lacy, there's 20 seconds left, come on bro! Lacy please, Lacy, please! Oh my god no, guys, somebody gift, guys somebody please gift. The stream can't end. Yes! Five gifted, oh no. Guys the stream can't end, I have my hands like this. It's literally impossible to end— "
"Today I needed a day": Stable Ronaldo thanks fans and claims he doesn't want to burn out after the 12-minute-long subathon on Twitch
FaZe Clan did a combined subathon in September 2024 with Twitch streamers affiliated with the esports organization collectively staying live for the entire month. The marathon was quite a success, as FaZe Banks later announced that the members earned a whopping $12 million in total over September because of the subathon.
After his latest subathon ended in about 12 minutes, Stable Ronaldo posted on his X community, The Stable, addressing his current situation. The Twitch streamer, who was one of the red-carpet hosts for Streamer Awards 2024, thanked his supporters and claimed that while he did stream (for 12 minutes), he needed the day.
"Guys I love you all so much I want to Thank you guys for allowing me to do what I do. Today I needed a day."
He further stated that he doesn't want to burn out, revealing that big things will be announced on Monday:
"Even though I technically did stream, I'm making sure I don't burn out. Big things announced Monday"
In related news, Stable Ronaldo recently went viral after his girlfriend Boba called him up during a stream to talk about her supposed pregnancy.
