Twitch streamer ImDontai, a prominent figure in the platform’s “W community,” recently addressed fellow streamer Felix “xQc” Lengyel following a public feud. The tension began when xQc described African-American artist Doechii’s use of the Somebody That I Used to Know sample in her song Anxiety as “unfortunate,” a comment that sparked backlash and was interpreted by some as racially insensitive.
Felix faced accusations of discrimination, mainly because of Doechii’s African heritage. Responding to the controversy with humor in an X post, ImDontai referenced the Ryan Coogler film Sinners, which stars Michael B. Jordan and features a predominantly African-descended cast. He joked that he’d only watch the movie if xQc gave it a positive review.
xQc later responded directly, calling out Dontai and denying that his original critique of Doechii’s music was racially motivated.
On April 21, Dontai spoke on the situation again, claiming that, in the past, netizens have accused him of discrimination as well:
"I have people thinking that I'm racist, like people think that I'm racist against white people. I know I'm not, so I don't give a f**k what they think. You know you not racist right?"
During the controversy, xQc received comments claiming that he was "racism-baiting" to garner attention online:
"It's just not as funny and good when it's like 'racism-baiting' or whatever, it's just odd."
"You shouldn't give a f**k": ImDontai claims xQc shouldn't take online comments too seriously after allegations of racism surface
While reacting to Felix's take on the situation, ImDontai suggested that the Canadian streamer should relax a little, especially if Felix believes racism is out of the question entirely:
"You shouldn't give a f**k."
Dontai then backtracked a bit, looking at the situation from xQc's perspective, understanding that he's a Caucasian streamer. Later, he concluded that allegations of racism against a "white" man may be considered "crazier" or more severe as compared to the same allegations against a person of color:
"Or is it different because he's white? If he's white being called racist does that make it crazier? Okay... Alright, I could understand that."
Further, after Felix claimed that such allegations of discrimination become labels that aren't "easily removed," Dontai went on to list names people have called him in the past:
"Bro, people say that I'm gay, and they say that I'm racist, and they say that I'm homophobic, and they say that I'm transphobic. These are all labels that I don't want on me. But brother, I know it's not true, so like c'mon man... we're just bantering back and forth right?"
In other news, xQc revealed his official Marvel Rivals Invitational tournament with a $250,000 prize pool, showcasing a lineup of popular streamers.
