YouTube content creator Marques Brownlee also known as MKBHD, recently addressed a question regarding Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo's massive increase in subscriber count since his account was launched on August 21, 2024. The account currently holds over 54.7 million subscribers at the time of writing, gathering the numbers within 10 days.
However, Brownlee was quick to inform the fans to curb their expectations of the future subscribership of Ronaldo rivaling that of YouTube's most subscribed Jimmy "MrBeast", stating:
"People are saying he's passing MrBeast soon or something like that. I would pump the breaks on that... MrBeast is at like 300 million. So, that's a long way from 30 million, but we'll see how the trajectory goes based on what they actually post."

In his video titled I'm Taking a Break, Marques Brownlee revealed that he would be taking some time off of YouTube to focus on his participation in the World Ultimate Frisbee Championships taking place in Australia, where he will be representing Team USA.
After talking a bit about this, he took to address some questions that fans had posed to him on social media. One of these questions discussed Cristiano Ronaldo's recent channel launch, which attracted a massive number of subscribers. The channel has broken multiple records in this process.
However, while asking fans to curb any anticipation of him crossing MrBeast soon, he focused on the content being outputted by Ronaldo and stated:
"I just wanna see what he actually does on YouTube, because there's a bunch of videos out now. He's not running it, there's somebody running it for him. But how do they keep it up? What types of videos do they actually make? Do they, like, lean into the YouTube culture? Do they collab with anyone at all? Or, do they just like, make highlight reels of his day or whatever?"
YouTube streamer and well-known Cristiano Ronaldo fan Darren "IShowSpeed" was overtaken by the footballer in YouTube subscriber count after just one day of the account being created. Reacting to this live, IShowSpeed hit Ronaldo's "Siuu" celebration, and then dived headfirst into his monitor and streaming set-up.
