Twitch streamer Zack "Asmongold" has chimed in on Sony Interactive Entertainment's hero-shooter, Concord, being shut down just a few weeks after its official launch. For those unaware, Concord's developer, Firewalk Studios, announced in a blog post on September 3, 2024, that the multiplayer game will go offline on September 6, 2024, with full refunds available to players.
On the same day (September 3, 2024), Asmongold commented on the situation. While shedding light on his conversation with a channel moderator, the Austin, Texas-based personality stated:
"I know that Concord has been aborted. My mod sent it to me. Nomad sent it to me and I replied back. I said, 'I used to pray for times like these.' It's crazy. Yep! It's dead! It's actually f**king dead! Yep, I know. Isn't that crazy? Yep, with a full refund. You're goddamn right! I know, man!"

The Twitch streamer then compared Concord's situation to a "post-birth abortion":
"'Abortion clinic worked on Concord.' Well, hey, this goes right into what people were talking about post-birth abortions. You know? It's been around for a couple of weeks and they finally decided, 'You know what? This is a bad decision after all.'"
Asmongold says Concord will be remembered for being a "catastrophic failure"
During the same livestream, Asmongold's attention was drawn to a viewer who claimed that people would be fired as a result of Concord's "failure." The One True King (OTK) co-founder agreed, saying the game would be remembered as a "catastrophic failure":
"'Some people are going to be fired after Concord's failure.' Oh, yeah! No, make no mistake, I think a high triple-digit amount of people are going to be absolutely f**king removed because of this. This is going to be like a... Concord will be remembered, in ten years from now, for how much of a catastrophic failure it was."

Asmongold added that he was "very happy" with Concord's shutdown:
"A lot of people are very happy about this. Myself included. The game looked like trash, and so, that's what happens. So Concord is going offline. That's right, guys, they are ending... they are bringing Concord into the end of service."
Asmongold is a well-known Twitch streamer, having joined the Amazon-owned platform in November 2011. He has been broadcasting on his alternate channel, Zackrawrr, for more than a year, and it currently has over 1.8 million followers.
