Olajide "KSI'' has been involved in different realms of entertainment, starting as a YouTuber and slowly transforming into a musician/boxer. In 2022, alongside fellow content creator Logan Paul, he founded PRIME Hydration, which manufactures a range of energy drinks, sports beverages, and drink mixes. Most recently, PRIME collaborated with MrBeast's Feastables to create Lunchly.
Lunchly is a brand of snack kits, marketed as a "healthier" version of Lunchables, another American grab-and-go lunch brand. Critics claim that despite having real cheese, less sugar, and fewer calories than its competitor, it remains highly processed and not genuinely "healthy."
Even YouTube Minecraft legend, DanTDM, got involved in criticizing the collaboration, stating that the individuals involved are "selling crap to kids" just to make money. Amidst the drama, after KSI denounced the claims, he released a song in collaboration with hip-hop artist Trippie Redd, titled Thick Of It. The song was met with mixed reviews online.
In a recent interview with CLASH magazine, he addressed the backlash he's been receiving online:
In the interview, he took accountability for his actions and said:
"I'm not a guy who shies away from criticism. I've made so many mistakes, and I've messed up so many times. But don't take it seriously, because with Twitter... there's a lot of angry miserable people, who hate the world, hate their situation and take it out on people like YouTubers, or celebrities."
"There are times when I ask myself why I’m on Twitter": KSI addresses the hate he's been receiving on X
From the get-go, KSI anticipated the hate for Lunchly. In a recently uploaded, pre-recorded episode of Logan Paul's podcast Impaulsive, the YouTuber said the following:
"Well, I wouldn't be surprised, with Lunchly, we'll get a few dumb people on X being like 'Oh my god, they're trying to poison the kids now'."
In the CLASH magazine interview, KSI revealed that he sometimes questions himself while on X:
"There are times when I ask myself why I’m on Twitter, or Reddit. It’s so easy just to scroll, and scroll. Get stuck in this loop, asking what I’m doing with my life. What have I done? You get depressed, you don’t want to do anything, Then you stop posting. A vicious cycle. The secret is never, ever take things to heart."
He also mentioned that certain people wish to see him fail, but this does not faze him.
In other news, KSI's fellow Sidemen member, Simon "Miniminter" commented on the Lunchly drama.
