Popular YouTube streamer Darren "IShowSpeed" has responded to Twitch streamer Fanum saying a race between the two would be close. Darren is known for being quite athletic, having raced professional racers before on stream. The YouTuber was quite dismissive of the challenge, claiming that he would give Fanum a 10-second headstart if they race to even the odds.
For the unaware, IShowSpeed has long claimed to be one of the fastest people on the planet. He got a chance to prove himself recently after racing Olympic champion Noah Lyles in a 50m dash organized by MrBeast. While the streamer did not win, the race was quite close and MrBeast had to consult slow-motion cameras to determine the winner.
So when Fanum talked about potentially beating him on his Twitch stream on December 6, IShowSpeed said that he would give the AMP-affiliated streamer a substantial headstart:
"Fanum, I will give you a 10-second headstart, 10-second headstart!"
"You're so damn slow and big": IShowSpeed talks about potentially racing Fanum
On his December 6, 2024, Twitch stream Fanum commented on a hypothetical race with IShowSpeed. He went on to claim that while he doesn't know whether he would be able to beat the YouTuber, he would be "right there." Fanum also noted that the only reason people were saying he wouldn't be able to do it was because he was "big":
"I don't know if I could beat Speed, but I would be right there though. Ni**as don't believe me, bro. Ni**as don't believe me because I am a big boy, I am fat, you know what I am saying? But I believe in myself."
Upon hearing this, Speed insinuated that Fanum would need a 10-second head start to make it fair. Furthermore, the streamer also called out the Twitch creator for being slow and big, claiming that it was all talk:
"Your big a** is not even, you're so damn slow and big. I won't even like, I won't even, just stop! Fanum, you're just talking, you're just talking."
In related news, IShowSpeed was recently challenged by professional footballer Tyreek Hill. The Miami Dolphins wide receiver floated the idea that he would be willing to race the streamer if there was money on the line. Speed has responded to the challenge, accepting to race Tyreek Hill for $100K with proceeds going to charity. However, no real date has been set as of yet.
