Controversial internet personality Ramsey Khalid Ismael, better known as "Johnny Somali," has once again made headlines because of his recent contentious antics. For those out of the loop, the streamer is currently in South Korea and was recently taken into police custody to protect him from locals.
On October 27, 2024, a 12-second video featuring South Korean YouTuber Taewoong Uhm, or Eom Tae-Woong, surfaced on social media. In it, the former MMA fighter instructed Somali to check his Instagram DMs and challenged him to a fight.
Furthermore, Eom Tae-Woong threatened to "kill" the former Kick streamer, remarking:
"Johnny Somali, check your Instagram DM. Let's fight me! I will kill you! You f**king n****r!"
For context, Eom Tae-Woong runs the YouTube channel 엄태웅TV, which currently boasts over 289k subscribers. Furthermore, the content creator is known for producing "cyber lecca" content. According to online sources, "cyber lecca" refers to YouTubers whose content focuses on criticizing a person involved in a specific situation.
Johnny Somali recently got assaulted in South Korea following his controversial antics
On October 27, 2024, videos from Johnny Somali's livestream surfaced on social media platforms such as X and Reddit, showcasing him getting assaulted in South Korea. In the video, the Phoenix, Arizona native was seen getting kicked by a masked individual wearing black attire.
The person then started chasing the streamer. They eventually grabbed Somali and slammed him to the ground. Things did not end there, as the masked individual then assaulted the content creator's associate and another controversial personality, Jino.
X user @teamft_official provided an update on the situation, claiming that the individual who assaulted the IRL streamer and his associates was arrested and later released.
They added:
"Aftermath Update: 1 Korean was arrested and released. Johnny Somali is still at (the) police station being drug tested. Hank is with police at Johnny Somali's hotel while they do a search for drugs. Jino is at the hospital and his phone was stolen by one of the Koreans."
Earlier today (October 28, 2024), Johnny Somali's official YouTube channel had been suspended. While claiming that "inappropriate content" had been broadcasted on his channel after it got "hacked," the content creator stated that YouTube's decision to terminate his channel must have been a "mistake."
As of this writing, Somali's YouTube channel remains suspended, with the Google-owned platform stating that it was removed for violating their Community Guidelines.
