In a recent collaboration video released on September 12, 2024, popular YouTuber MrBeast teamed up with Hollywood actor Chris Hemsworth for a grueling workout session at the actor’s gym in Byron Bay, Australia. The intense training session was documented in the video on Hemsworth's channel, capturing both stars as they pushed through a demanding fitness routine.
MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, was shocked by Hemsworth's fitness regimen. The same day, he posted the pictures of the duo on Instagram with the caption,
"I had a workout with Thor to celebrate his new YouTube channel!"
MrBeast takes on Chris Hemsworth's 50-Circuit workout in Byron Bay
The workout session involved a 30-minute high-intensity circuit workout which was created by Chris Hemsworth’s personal trainer Luke Zocchi. The routine comprised eight stations, done four rounds, and included exercises such as the kettlebell deadlift, sled push, ball slam, and the most dreaded, the assault bike.
Although MrBeast is typically adept at tests such as tying himself in a coffin or being stuck on an island for two weeks, the bodily challenge took a toll on him.
At one point, he quipped, "What about thirty seconds on, a minute off? I came here to hang out with Chris, and that turned into doing a full-body workout."
Before diving into the intense gym session, Chris Hemsworth engaged in playful banter with MrBeast by suggesting they could reward themselves afterward with a MrBeast chocolate bar.
"I think we can do a workout and see how many calories we burn, and that equates to how many chocolate bars we eat," Hemsworth remarked.
Despite the humor, the workout pushed MrBeast to his limits, with the YouTuber admitting, "I’m tired," while still battling through the different stations. The video also showed the two competing during the Ski Erg challenge, with Chris Hemsworth edging out MrBeast by a few hundred calories burned.
"I understand why he’s called Thor," MrBeast noted early in the video.
While the workout video mainly focused on Hemsworth’s fitness schedule, it also offered a few chances for both stars to advertise their products. After finishing the session, both went for the promised chocolate bar, which MrBeast said was made with real peanut butter.
Chris Hemsworth, who stars as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, originally created his YouTube channel in 2020. On it, he posts mainly about health, nutrition, and fitness. For his recent workout video, he partnered with YouTuber MrBeast, who has more than 200 million subscribers.
The video not only promoted the Hemsworth fitness brand but also showcased a folksy, fun, and down-to-earth atmosphere between the two personalities of film and YouTube.
"I’m like, ‘yo, you wanna hang out?’ He’s like, ‘yeah, we can workout.’ I was like, ‘that’s not what I asked, but ok,'" MrBeast joked during the video
This collaboration with Chris Hemsworth is one of the many high-profile partnerships MrBeast has engaged in throughout his career. This year, he has collaborated with content creators such as Kai Cenat, Logan Paul, and IShowSpeed.
