"If he went to Burger King": Asmongold reacts to UnitedHealthcare CEO shooting suspect getting arrested at a McDonald's

While streaming on the platform, Twitch streamer Asmongold reacted to the news of the UnitedHealthcare CEO shooting case suspect Luigi Mangione getting arrested on December 9, 2024. After reading about how Mangione was arrested after a McDonald's employee called the police on him, Asmongold joked that the suspect should have gone to Burger King instead.

While streaming from his alternate Twitch account zackrawrr, viewers pointed out to Asmongold that a suspect in the shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson had been detained by the police at a McDonald's in Altoona, Pennsylvania.

The Twitch streamer's immediate reaction was to joke that the person of interest should not have gone to McDonald's:

"What, they find him? Oh, they got his a** at McDonald's? Oh, McDonald's, should not have gone. If he went to Burger King, he would have been okay."

"Why are you carrying around the gun": Asmongold weighs in on the suspect being arrested

While Asmongold is mostly known for talking about video games, he has been reacting to social issues for a while now. Clips from his Twitch streams about the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial from 2022 had gone viral at the time. With the shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Briant Thompson dominating the news cycle for the last week, the Twitch streamer was bound to comment on it on his stream.

After the suspect Luigi Mangione was arrested at a McDonald's, Asmongold gave his opinion on shooters in general and claimed that a majority of them were stupid:

"You want to know the real reason? It's because most of the people that go out and do the mass shootings are stupid. We don't understand how lucky we are that 90% of the people who go out and try to commit crimes and do bad stuff like this end up shooting themselves in the foot more often than they shoot other people."

Asmongold went on to criticize Luigi Mangione for allegedly carrying the gun:

"Why are you carrying around the gun on you days after the fact? Why would you do that?"

Asmongold also reacted to a Donald Trump meme about the situation and claimed that the alleged shooter of Brian Thompson would have been arrested anyways:

"'Sir, we are going to need to see some ID.' But yeah, big surprise that this guy's going to get caught. Shooting somebody down in cold blood in front of everybody, really hard to get away with that."

Readers should note that Luigi Mangione has not yet been charged and is merely a suspect. However, that has not stopped social media from talking about Mangione, with his supposed LinkedIn profile even going viral. Twitch streamer HasanAbi has also chimed in on this after a screenshot claiming the suspect worked on Sid Meier's Civilization VI went viral.
