"In immense amounts of pain": Lil Tay's X account posts update days after she underwent open heart surgery to remove tumor

Internet personality Lil Tay's X account has posted a new update regarding her health, alongside a photo of her. To those uninitiated, the internet personality had just recently undergone open heart surgery due to her having a benign tumor in her heart. In an earlier post dated September 12, 2024, the account also posted a short video of her echocardiogram as "proof" of her condition.

Now, the latest post on X reveals that the musician is currently in "immense amounts of pain" as part of her recovery from the intrusive surgical procedure she had been a part of:

"⁣Lil Tay is in immense amounts of pain; she had her chest tube (that drains blood from around her heart and lungs) taken out."

In the post made on September 22, 2024, a photo has also been uploaded showcasing Lil Tay lying on a hospital bed while surrounded by medical staff. She seems to have an uncomfortable expression on her face, which seems to go in line with the details of her recovery as explained in the post.

The post states that the process of taking her chest tube out was a "slow" ordeal and required the help of multiple medical staff members. While stating this, the post also requested her supporters to keep sending prayers for her on her recovery journey:

"On top of the pain, it was a slow process, requiring multiple nurses’ assistance. Please continue to send Lil Tay your prayers as she continues facing challenges on her road to recovery."

Lil Tay had previously been involved in a death hoax that had gone viral on the internet. The hoax, which made rounds on the internet in 2023, had been started by a post from Tay's official Instagram account claiming that she had passed away. Later, she put out a statement clarifying that she was very much alive and that the Instagram account had been compromised by a third party.
