YouTube star Darren "IShowSpeed" might be the most popular name on the internet right now. The streamer's ongoing South East Asian tour has been a booming success for him. During his latest stop in Indonesia on September 18, 2024, his IRL (in real life) stream broke all kinds of records, peaking at over one million concurrent viewers.
This is his personal best in terms of live viewers. His previous best was last week (September 10, 2024) in Thailand, where he clocked over 612K viewers. His new record has smashed this by a good 400K or so.
"Thank y'all so much" - IShowSpeed tears up as Indonesia stream clocks over 1 million viewers
IShowSpeed has once again shown why he’s the top dog in the streaming scene. His latest IRL stream from Indonesia hit a new personal record, peaking at over one million viewers, a career-high for the Ohio-born creator.
Naturally, the astonishing milestone brought the streamer to tears as he exclaimed:
"One million live viewers, bro! Oh my f**king god, thank y'all so much. Oh my god, that's really one million. One f**king million! Let's f**king go! Let's go Indonesia!"
The streamer celebrated this milestone with one of his signature stunts. He pulled off a backflip in the middle of the road, surrounded by a cheering crowd rallying behind him. Watch the VOD to the viral stream here:
What is the current record for most viewers?
Despite IShowSpeed reaching an impressive one million live viewers, the record for the most-viewed livestream still belongs to India's Chandrayaan-3 moon landing by ISRO, which drew over eight million viewers.
When it comes to content creators and streamers, the current record is held by Spanish streamer Ibai. His fourth edition of the La Velada streaming event reached an astounding 3.8 million concurrent viewers on Twitch.
Trailing slightly behind Ibai is another Spanish streamer, TheGrefg, whose peak viewership reached 2.4 million. This record was set during the live presentation of his Fortnite outfit in January 2021.
Elon Musk, who has been promoting gaming streams and content creation on his X.com platform, also achieved a notable milestone with his Diablo 4 livestream. The stream garnered over 1.34 million concurrent viewers.
