A clip from Darren "IShowSpeed" celebrating ecstatically after Portugal scored a late winner in the 92nd minute against Czechia has gone viral over social media, garnering hundreds of thousands of views within an hour of it being posted. For those unaware, the YouTube streamer has made arrangements to live in Germany during the UEFA European Championships and is expected to do his signature IRL streams during several matches.
Darren is a known Portuguese national football team supporter, having idolized Cristiano Ronaldo for much of his teenage life. So it was no surprise that he had chosen to do a livestream while watching Portugal's first match in this year's Euro. Tensions had been high during the final half of the match with the score leveled since the 70th minute.
However, when super substitute Francisco Conceicao put Portugal ahead with a late goal in injury time, IShowSpeed was hyper-excited and celebrated by jumping up and down while shouting himself hoarse.
IShowSpeed highlights from Portugal vs Czechia game
The 19-year-old YouTube streamer has seen immense success by doing football-related content. Be it making re-enactments of Cristiano Ronaldo's old ads, or him traveling around the world to watch and stream from big matches, IShowSpeed has become one of the premier soccer streamers on the platform.
He has also had many high-profile collaborations with footballers, having met up with icons such as Ronaldo Nazario and Neymar. He has also played in charity matches including the Match For Hope earlier this year where he shared the pitch with legends such as Kaka, Roberto Carlos, Didier Drogba, and many more.
However, IShowSpeed has always been clear that his favorite soccer player is none other than Cristiano Ronaldo, and by association, he has supported Portugal in every major international tournament. While watching their first 2024 Euro group stage match, it was natural for the streamer to get excited and when they scored their first goal, Darren celebrated by jumping down a few flights and hugging other fans.
In the 87th minute of the match, the Portuguese team created another chance after Cristiano Ronaldo's header rebounded off the goalpost, and Diego Jota put it into the net. Many in the stadium started celebrating, including IShowSpeed who even performed his iconic backflip in the stands. However, this was ruled as offside after a VAR check.
It did end well for Darren's team as they finally came out on top, beating Czechia two goals to one. Portugal's next match will be held over the weekend, and while it has not been confirmed, fans of the streamer will surely be looking forward to watching him go live from the stadium once again.
