YouTube streamer Darren "IShowSpeed" met Edi Rama, the Prime Minister of Albania, when on his European trip or "Euro Tours" in June and July 2024. During their encounter, IShowSpeed, wearing an Albanian football jersey, greeted Rama enthusiastically and expressed his admiration, calling it his first time meeting a head of state. In December, Speed explained how the meeting took place initially.
In an interview with YouTuber Jon Youshaei, specifically on the Created series, the streamer broke down how he managed to interact with Rama. Essentially, it all started with a fan, who just so happened to have political connections and soon enough, Speed found himself in the home of the Prime Minister:
"I was IRL streaming, then some kid literally randomly came up to my security and was like, 'Uhh, I know the Prime Minister',... I was like... 'hear him out', we got his number [and] 20 minutes later, in my stream, we pull up to the Prime Minister."

IShowSpeed explained to Youshaei that this is why he does what he does. He expressed that he loves streaming because of its raw and spontaneous nature, case in point, his interaction with Edi Rama:
"That's why I love streaming, everything's live, anything can happen, that's why I truly love it."
Looking back at IShowSpeed's interaction with the Albanian Prime Minister and the 2024 European Tour
IShowSpeed's European tour in 2024 was an incredible success, both in terms of viewership and engagement. Spanning 18 countries, including Germany, Albania, Italy, and Poland, Speed's content ranged from attending football matches to unique cultural encounters, such as meeting the Albanian Prime Minister.
As already mentioned, during their encounter, IShowSpeed, wearing an Albanian football jersey, greeted Rama enthusiastically and expressed his admiration, calling it his first time meeting a head of state. The Prime Minister, who is also an artist, shared some of his artwork with Speed and gifted him a signed book of his drawings. Speed, who revealed his own interest in drawing, appreciated Rama's creativity.
Rama watched the streamer play some basketball, praised his skills, and showed him around the house. The two shared a friendly farewell, with Speed expressing gratitude for the experience.
The tour amassed over 2.5 billion views across platforms like TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and X. Speed consistently drew between 50,000 and 80,000 live viewers on his streams, with peak viewership reaching 310,000 during a broadcast in Poland.
