The annual Gloucestershire Cheese Rolling 2024 event had a rather surprising guest player in YouTube star Darren "IShowSpeed." The streamer was among many who participated in the iconic event in Cooper Hill. For those unfamiliar with it, the Gloucestershire Cheese Rolling event is basically when several participants race down a steep hill and chase a wheel of Double Gloucester cheese.

The YouTube streamer was likely among those invited to the event. This was the first time that IShowSpeed undertook such an activity. From the footage that went viral, it appeared that he came fourth. Watch the race here:

Despite the seemingly fun event, he did come out of the race with some bruises. While speaking to the reporters, he revealed that there was a bit of swelling as a result of tumbling down the hill. He said:

"You see the blood right there?...it bruises up and swells up (pointing at his leg). So I have to go to the hospital after this."

When asked if it was worth it, the streamer replied:

"Hell yeah!"

Describing his experience, IShowSpeed added:

"It looks scary but once you first slide, you're like, 'You know what? I can do this. I can take it,' and I took it but I wanna do it again 'cause I know how to win now. I went fourth place in my first-time with no technique and no videos but yeah, I did it though."

Who won the Cheese Rolling event that IShowSpeed featured in?

The Gloucestershire Cheese Rolling event, officially known as the Cooper's Hill Cheese-Rolling and Wake attracted numerous participants from around the globe. Tom Kopke, from Munich, Germany, emerged as the winner of the male category.

There was also a female race in which Abby Lampe, a college student from North Carolina, won the women's section. She won the race in 2022 as well, becoming the first American female participant to win the competition.

IShowSpeed's ongoing UK trip also saw him make a viral stream during the FA Cup Final 2024 between his favorite team, Manchester United, and Manchester City (FT 2-1). The VOD of the entire stream is available on his official YouTube channel.
