YouTube streamer Darren "IShowSpeed" has been named the Most Influential Soccer Creator at the GOAL Champions Awards. The event is hosted by Goal.com, a website exclusively dedicated to covering soccer-related news, and presented by American telecommunications company AT&T. Meanwhile, these awards are focused on celebrating soccer talent belonging to the United States.
Speed is known to be a big fan of the sport and is often seen making references to his favorite soccer athlete, Portuguese soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo. In 2024, the streamer visited Germany to watch the footballer perform at the UEFA Euro Cup, which took place from June 14 to July 14, 2024. This eventually became the originating point of his popular tour of Europe.

Throughout his career, IShowSpeed has often made soccer a central point of his content and personality. For instance, the 19-year-old streamer owns a Lamborghini Huracan boasting a custom livery themed after Cristiano Ronaldo. Furthermore, he has been a regular at the annual Ballon d'Or ceremony, a coveted event in the world of soccer.
During his tour of Europe, Speed collaborated with popular personalities from the sport, including retired Swedish soccer player Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Swiss footballer Alisha Lehmann. More recently, in November 2024, he met up with Paul Pogba, with the two interacting together in a collaborative broadcast.
Given the vast amount of content revolving around soccer produced by IShowSpeed over the past year, it is no surprise that the Ohio native was the pick for the United States' most influential content creator of the sport.
Speed recently collaborated with another popular internet figure related to soccer, Sidemen member Olajide "KSI", and announced a new soccer league of their own. This league will boast veterans like Brazilian footballer Ronaldinho, ex-Chelsea captain John Terry, and Portuguese legend Luis Figo, who will be coaching teams of their own.
