YouTube streamer Darren "IShowSpeed" started his Southeast Asia tour in Thailand, where he crashed an auto rickshaw, drove a boat, danced with an elephant, petted a tiger, and even fought a professional Muay Thai fighter, all in just two days. Towards the end of his journey in Thailand, Speed decided to heat things up as he started playing with fire on a beach.
The streamer is known to pull wild stunts on his channel, like jumping over speeding cars and diving headfirst into his streaming setup.
Speed added to these antics during a fire show on a beach near Pattaya City where he got dangerously close to burning himself in an act of Fire poi, a performance art that involves spinning and swinging tethered weights, typically made of Kevlar or other fire-resistant materials that are ignited at the ends.
In the video above, a performer brought two intertwined chains, blazing with fire, close to IShowSpeed's crotch.
Speed braced himself, urging the performer to "come on" and as his shorts went ablaze, the streamer yelled and patted himself down. This was Speed's second attempt at the stunt, the first came after he was inspired by the performer setting himself on fire.
After this, the streamer continued to play with fire, asking the performers to get closer to him as they went about their routine.
IShowSpeed surpassed 29 million subscribers while playing with fire on a beach in Thailand
As IShowSpeed's subscriber count grew during his time on the beach, he had the performers on standby and said he would call them over to perform when he reached 29 million subscribers.
When Speed was about a thousand subscribers from the milestone, he asked the performers to start their act, but funnily enough, the streamer's subscribers decided to troll him and unsubscribe just as he was about to reach the goal.
Nevertheless, Speed ultimately reached the milestone, bringing him closer to his goal of surpassing his idol Cristiano Ronaldo, who passed him up in subscribers days after he joined YouTube.
As Speed's time in Thailand ended, he is set to shift to another undisclosed country in Southeast Asia and fans hope he visits theirs during the tour.
In other news, IShowSpeed recently surpassed his personal best by attracting over 600,000 live viewers during a stream from Thailand.
