YouTuber Darren "IShowSpeed" and Kai Cenat recently sought advice from Fortnite YouTuber Ali "Myth" on how to avoid becoming victims of stream sniping while attempting to win a match during their Fortnite OG streaming marathon. To those unaware, stream sniping is when viewers of a broadcast attempt to locate the content creators in-game to obstruct or interrupt their gameplay experience. This is usually done to the detriment of the overall broadcast.
The pair could be seen tuning into Myth's Twitch broadcast to get the precautions and guidelines they must follow while playing to avoid giving away their in-game location to their views. Myth explained:
"Listen, here's what you got to do. First things first, you'll be switching servers probably every f**king game. You gotta cover that sh**, you can't talk about it. you gotta switch every single game."
"It's the only way": Fortnite YouTuber Myth advises Kai Cenat and IShowSpeed on preventing stream sniping during their OG Fortnite marathon
As they enter the third day of their broadcast, Kai Cenat and IShowSpeed are determined to score a legitimate win in their OG Fortnite streaming marathon. The pair have been dealing with stream snipers throughout their livestream
A fellow Twitch streamer allegedly attempted to stream snipe them while hosting a broadcast. The pair confronted the individual personally by tuning into his broadcast, with Speed reminding the streamer of the potential consequences that stream sniping during a Twitch broadcast could entail.
Now, laying out instructions for the two streamers as they listened intently, Myth said:
"Cover your screen on drop. When you drop, uncover. After that, you guys need to un-f**king-cover after you rotate out. It f**king sucks. It's the only way. It's the only chance. You guys have like fifty f**king people stream sniping you and dropping on you."
However, Myth soon laid out the facts for IShowSpeed and Kai Cenat and claimed that they would probably have to face stream snipers for the entire duration of the marathon regardless of their actions:
"So, with that being the case. It's just the way it is. You guys are probably going to be f**ked with stream snipers the entire for the entire event. It's probably unavoidable."
During the initial stages of the broadcast, Kai Cenat and IShowSpeed revealed that Epic Games would ensure that stream snipers could be apprehended and they could enjoy a seamless broadcast. However, interference from viewers continued to plague them as their first win in the game had to be considered invalid due to a stream sniper supposedly aiding the two in winning the match.
