Streamers IShowSpeed and Kai Cenat have started their Minecraft Hardcore expedition. This mode comes with much higher stakes, particularly because there are no re-spawns, but the duo aims to slay the Ender Dragon and beat the game. At the series' onset, fans expected chaotic moments both in-game and in real life. So far, it seems these expectations have been met.
Kai and Speed will also be living together throughout the marathon, streaming in separate Minecraft-themed rooms. Since the two are constantly streaming, live on camera at all times, privacy is scarce. Over the last 40 hours, the two have slept on the same bed twice and showered, together, once.
With a whole camera set-up and dual showers, the two stepped in together and showered in front of over 130,000 concurrent live viewers. In the clip above, Kai is visibly uncomfortable with Speed getting too close to him:
"Your [shower] is over there! ('I'm just washing my body bro.', said Speed) In front of me?!... ('Stop being weird, we're bros, this is what bros do. You ain't never taken a shower with your homeboy?.', replied Speed) No... that's a*s."
Speed continued to approach Kai, making him feel uneasy before the two eventually went back to showering.
Kai Cenat and IShowSpeed's Hardcore Minecraft Marathon two days in
As of writing, Kai Cenat and IShowSpeed are on the cusp of completing the second day of their marathon, which started on August 17, 2024. So far, they have made it to The End once, but after Kai made a questionable play fighting the Dragon, they fell back to square one after nearly fifteen hours of grueling progress.
Kick streamer xQc reacted to the entire situation live and questioning the duo's strategy to remain inside a cage while getting peppered by the Dragon :
"Bro, he literally built a prison from them to get bombed and he stayed inside of it."
The two have racked up nearly twenty deaths on the game, as of this writing, and considering the number of unnecessary setbacks they've had to go through, fans expect this series to last much longer.
This marathon highlights not only the difficulty of Hardcore Minecraft but also the lengths to which these streamers will go to entertain their audience.
