YouTube streamer and gamer Darren "IShowSpeed" has finally completed the main storyline of Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2) after 37 hours of playing the game live on stream. For those unaware, he started an RDR2 gaming marathon on December 6, 2024. While he is still playing it, the story that follows the main character — Arthur Morgan — has ended.
Spoiler Alert: This article includes spoilers from Red Dead Redemption 2.
Morgan's ending is considered the "true ending" of RDR2 by most fans. Those who have played the game will know that he passed away after being betrayed by Dutch and Micah. For IShowSpeed, it was certainly a hard pill to swallow. He was seen in tears, as he exclaimed:
"Ain't no f**king way! This sh*t is crazy, bro. This sh*t is crazy! These ni**as 'traiting' (traitors) on me. They 'traited' my sh*t. They some rats, bro. They some rats. Come on Dutch, don't do me like that. Don't!"
The last few moments of Arthur Morgan saw him resting in the canyon, watching the sunrise. Reacting to this, Speed said:
"These ni**as gonna leave me. They gon' leave me. No, I don't like that. Hell nah! Ain't no f**king dude. Ain't no way I'm going out like that. Arthur, get up."
"I'm glad he's playing this masterpiece game" - Fans react to IShowSpeed's emotional reaction to RDR2 ending
IShowSpeed is continuing to play Red Dead Redemption 2. He's currently streaming the epilogue, which follows John Marston after the death of Arthur Morgan, the main protagonist.
RDR2 is often regarded as one of the greatest games of all time. Unsurprisingly, fans were pleased to see him finally finish it after several earlier attempts that were left incomplete. Seeing his emotional reaction, several fans reacted:
"I'm glad he's playing this masterpiece game," said @R52channel
"Bro just witnessed one of the saddest gaming endings ever," said @gekoft
"This is very deep. It seems real," said @oseichris_
"Heartbreaking. A gamer's feelings hurt by a video game," said @Sharon_Riley35
IShowSpeed isn't the only streamer to have recently completed the game. In April 2024, Kai Cenat also finished playing it. Like Speed, the Twitch streamer was deeply impressed by the title, calling it the "best game" he's ever played.
