IShowSpeed tries Doner kebab for the first time in Austria

YouTube creator Darren "IShowSpeed" went on an IRL stream in Austria on July 16, 2024. The 19-year-old star visited an amusement park as part of the IRL broadcast and tried out games as well as the rides inside. While doing so, he also interacted with fellow fans and strangers he met along the way. The streamer could be seen going go-karting and riding a roller coaster during his time there.

Nearly two hours into the broadcast, the creator decided to visit a doner kebab shop in the country. To those unaware, doner kebab is a dish originating from Turkey involving meat cooked on a vertical rotisserie. The meat is cooked using a vertical cooking element and is eventually sliced into thin shavings, which are then used to make a sandwich.

Within the shop, IShowSpeed tried his first doner kebab surrounded by the establishment's staff. The creator could be seen enthusiastically patting the shop's staff on the back after trying the sandwich, implying that he truly enjoyed the taste of the doner kebab.

IShowSpeed gets a green apple thrown at him while at a Doner kebab shop

Darren "IShowSpeed" made his way inside the doner shop through a massive crowd of fans who had collected outside. His security accompanied him to the shop, where he was greeted by the staff of the shop. With the shop now full of fans, the creator was handed his meal.

That said, right before he took a bite, he was hit with a green apple thrown by an individual within the gathering of fans inside the shop. This is an inside joke within the IShowSpeed fanbase, as the creator himself often uses the phrase "Green apples" to convey to his cameraman, Slipz, that he should end the livestream.

Right after he was hit, he could be heard angrily shouting:

"Somebody just threw a green apple at me! Somebody told me to end my stream!... End the stream, end the f**king stream, end the f**king stream, bro!"

While this was taking place, the crowd started chanting Argentinian football star Lionel Messi's name to tease IShowSpeed, who is a known fan of Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo. Ignoring the chants, IShowSpeed took a few bites out of the sandwich and immediately put his fist up as a sign to showcase how much he liked the doner kebab. The crowd responded to this with deafening cheers.

During his broadcast in Greece, the creator's car could be seen being followed by hundreds of individuals. The situation was so dire that IShowSpeed resorted to calling the local authorities to seek help.
