Zack "Asmongold" has claimed that Elon Musk did not intentionally perform a "Nazi salute" during Donald Trump's inauguration on January 20, 2025. During a Twitch broadcast on January 21, 2025, the OTK streamer addressed the controversy surrounding the Tesla CEO, who caused an uproar with a hand gesture during the event.
Many have compared Musk's hand movement during Trump's inauguration to the Roman salute and the "Seig Heil" gesture associated with Adolf Hitler and the Nazi regime.
Nevertheless, Asmongold appeared to defend Musk, stating that his "logical brain" believes the billionaire was just being "stupid" on stage and that the controversial gesture was not intentional:
"I'm not an emotional thinker, okay? So I can't appeal to people emotionally. But what I can say is that every part of my logical brain is telling me that this was not an intentional Nazi salute. This was not any nod to any sort of Hitler or Nazi stuff at all. And it was just Elon being stupid."

Asmongold also said people are taking things out of context and that the controversy shouldn't be taken "that seriously":
"Should he have done this? No, probably not. I think that really, just because people take things out of context and then turn it into something else, no. I wouldn't take it that seriously."

Asmongold calls the mainstream media "the enemy of the people" while discussing Elon Musk's controversial hand gesture
After discussing the claim that Elon Musk did not perform the Nazi salute during Donald Trump's inauguration, Asmongold began talking about the Holocaust and other sensitive topics on his alternate ZackRawrr account. About 15 minutes into the discussion, a viewer accused the streamer of using hateful language towards certain groups, such as the mainstream media.
In response, Asmongold stated that he hates the mainstream media, calling them "the enemy of the people" because they misrepresent things. He cited the Luigi Mangione case and Donald Trump's past remarks as examples while claiming the media always plays the race card with shootings:
"I do hate mainstream media. I do. I think that they are the enemy of the people. I think that they accurately misrepresent things constantly. Look at for example the way they covered Luigi. Look at for example the way that they covered the Trump 'fine people' thing. Look at how they cover multiple shootings that have happened and try to always play the race card with them. It's constant."
The streamer then clarified that he doesn't think alternative media is any better:
