Twitch star Tyler "Tyler1" has commented on Jason "Pirate Software" receiving death threats and his past identity being brought up amid the recent World of Warcraft controversy. During a livestream on January 15, 2025, Tyler1 referred to Pirate Software as a "dumba**" for not apologizing after two OnlyFangs guildmates died in-game while progressing through the Dire Maul North dungeon.
However, the Missouri native did not agree with how the online community responded to the controversy:
"You can call me Pirate defender, blah, blah, and all this stuff. Dude, at the end of the day, this guy is a dumba** for running like that. This guy is an idiot for not saying sorry. But, are we serious with some of the s**t I've been seeing? Are we serious? 'He threatened to report Twitch streamers.' Bro, okay, but low-key, again, I dare not say my take, but bro, what are we doing? You guys are saying he's feeding it. He's a streamer, have you seen his chat? Bro, his chat has been... it's a meme, yes, but it's a bit disgusting."
Tyler1 seemed to sympathize with Pirate Software for "lashing out" after netizens sent death threats to him, he allegedly got swatted, and his past identity was brought up:
"Obviously, he's going to lash out. Do people not know what egos are? What are we doing? Like, apparently, he's getting swatted, he's getting spammed death threats in-game (and) out of game, people are bringing up his past. Apparently, he was a furry, they found his old identity. What are we doing? Guys, is this not too much? Like, when is enough enough, bro?"

"It's all I see everywhere" - Tyler1 shares his thoughts on the virality of the Pirate Software WoW drama
After expressing his dissatisfaction with netizens' behavior amid Pirate Software World of Warcraft Classic Hardcore drama, Tyler1 claimed to have seen the controversy "everywhere" on the internet:
"Dude, it's all I see everywhere - YouTube, Twitter, Twitch, Reddit. I said it yesterday, I open up my banking app, I see it on the top. Apparently, some caster said it, too. Like, Jesus, man! Like, seriously, this is a little bit loser s**t. Come on, guys!"
Pirate Software addressed the community in a lengthy post on X after being kicked out of the OnlyFangs guild. After stating that people were "taking it too far" with "lots of weird attack posts," the former Blizzard employee claimed that he "didn't feel he could save anyone" during the Dire Maul North dungeon progression.
