Twitch star Kai Cenat did his first IRL stream from Paris on August 9, 2024. While roaming around the city at night, the content creator approached some police officers and asked them to free Travis Scott. For those unaware, the American rapper was arrested by Parisian law enforcement on the very same day for alleged assault on a hotel security guard.
Cenat, who is in Paris to watch the 2024 Olympics Men's Basketball Finals between the USA and France, is an acquaintance of Scott, having spoken with him on his broadcasts before. Considering the arrest, the streamer approached a cop sitting inside a car and personally asked him to free the rapper:
"Listen, listen, listen. All I have got to say, bro. Please just free Travis right now."
Parisian police officers say they don't know who Travis Scott is as Kai Cenat advocates for rapper's release
Kai Cenat is one of the most popular Twitch streamers right now and is currently in Paris to collaborate with Nike on an IRL stream from the 2024 Olympics Men's Basketball Finals.
Cenat did his first broadcast from the city the night before. After encountering a few local police officers, he approached them to advocate for Travis Scott's release. The streamer explained to one of the cops how popular the rapper is around the world and that his fans were worried about him.
Kai Cenat reiterated the need for them to let Travis Scott go:
"He is everywhere, everybody is concerned, and everybody is worried. So we got to get him, we got to get him free."
The policeman, however, dismissed his request and claimed that he had no idea where the American star was being held:
"I don't know where is he[sic]"
Disappointed at the response, Cenat approached another cop who was walking outside the car and asked him:
"Oh f*ck! Sh*t. (To the other officer) Do you know? Travis Scott?"
However, even this policeman said he did not know the rapper:
"I don't know."
Cenat could not believe what he heard and started listing Scott's discography to help the cop identify who he was talking about:
"Bro, Travis Scott! It's lit, Yeah, FEIN?"
When that did not ring a bell, Cenat turned away and said:
No, you all just arrested him yesterday. Oh sh*t, alright."
Kai Cenat's amiable interactions with the French police are in stark contrast to his sentiments towards law enforcement back home. Particularly, the streamer recently cussed out the New York Police Department after they temporarily seized fellow AMP member Fanum's Lamborghini.
