Twitch star Kai Cenat has taken the internet by storm after collaborating with WWE legend and actor John Cena for a livestream. During the same broadcast, the two-time Streamer of the Year winner made a big announcement, revealing that the fan-favorite Mafiathon subathon was returning.
For those unaware, Kai Cenat hosted his first Mafiathon subathon last year, in February 2023. After a 30-day continuous broadcast, he became the most subscribed Twitch streamer, dethroning some of the biggest names in the livestreaming industry like Tyler "Ninja" and Ludwig Ahgren.
However, in October 2024, VTuber Ironmouse broke the content creator's record by amassing over 306,000 active Twitch subscribers during her subathon.
Earlier today (October 14, 2024), Kai Cenat and John Cena announced the return of the Mafiathon subathon. A two-minute video featuring the two has gone viral on X, eliciting responses from hundreds of netizens.
While numerous fans were delighted to see the return of Kai Cenat's subathon, X user @Globalstats11 believed that the 22-year-old would "easily" break the Twitch subscribers record:
"Kai easily beating the sub-record," said X user @Globalstats11.
One community member speculated that Cenat could surpass the 500,000 subscribers mark:
"Kai is gonna pass 500k subs with this subathon," commented X user @paradox_241.
Meanwhile, X user @officialvrewls explained why they thought the New Yorker could "surely beat" Ironmouse's record:
"Kai for sure beating Ironmouse record with his current status and relevance," remarked X user @officialvrewls.

He elaborated:
"Now, for those who don't know, the record has been broken. And it is now time to suit up. So chat, I won't be telling you when. But, the next time that you guys will be seeing me is when the Mafiathon begins. All I got to say is no dates. No nothing. The next time y'all see me is for the next Mafiathon. We're going for the record."
