Twitch star Kai Cenat recently revealed the reason behind his choosing to collaborate with TikTok sensation Malik Ambersley, who has become popular on the short-form content website and beyond for his portrayal of Miles Morales in his signature NPC style. Kai revealed that Malik would help him by announcing the names of subscribers out loud while Cenat was testing and sleeping. This would allow subscribers to receive their due acknowledgment for their donations.

Talking to music industry interviewer Nardwuar, he said:

"While I'm sleeping, Miles reads out all the subs that come in. He reads them out one by one. If you give one, if you give two, if you give five, ten, I did that so that subs can be appreciated while I'm sleep... It was also a good way to build up the subs while I'm asleep."

"I've seen people making fun of him": Kai Cenat reveals the reason for picking NPC Miles Morales for a collaboration during Mafiathon 2

Kai Cenat is currently hosting a month-long subathon for November 2024, which he has titled "Mafiathon 2". This subathon has seen a number of interesting celebrity cameos and props, such as Cenat's collaborative livestreams with songwriter Benny Blanco and hip-hop artist Chris Brown, which also featured AI-powered robots.

The streamer has also had Malik be an integral part of his broadcasts, with the latter regularly making appearances throughout Mafiathon 2. In his interview with Nardwuar, Cenat revealed that he had come across certain TikToks in which Malik was being made fun of, and chose to stand up for him and provide him a platform through his livestreams:

"A few months ago, I've seen people making fun of Miles. I've seen very stressful TikToks of him trying to just make a way for himself on TikTok. I've seen people making fun of him and not treating him like he was just trying to go and get it, and I said, f**k that. I wanna have him on my stream and I feel like it was good... So, shout out to Miles. W Miles."

Kai Cenat recently made history on Twitch by becoming the first content creator to concurrently hold 500,000 subscriptions on the platform. This broke the previous record of 326,252 set by Twitch VTuber Ironmouse.
