Over the last few years, many celebrities and artists have used livestreaming as a way to connect with their fans online and Lizzo is the latest to join the fray.
Rapper DDG has been going live on Twitch for years and recently went viral after a clip from his January 19, 2025, broadcast claiming Donald Trump intentionally got TikTok banned in the US to take credit for restoring it was shared on social media platforms.
Lizzo made her debut on Twitch under the username lizzobetwitchin, and announced it on her official Instagram account with the caption:
"TikTok is back but I don’t like feeling gaslit so I’m having a dance party on twitch: lizzobetwitchin"
Kai Cenat, one of the most popular Twitch streamers on the planet, is famous for his high-profile collaborations and has live-streamed with celebrities such as SZA, Tyla, Kevin Hart, and more.
Screenshots of Kai Cenat sending 50 subscriptions to Lizzo on her first stream have garnered a lot of attention on social media. Fans praised the Twitch streamer for being so welcoming.

A clip of Lizzo saying Erobb221 is "scary" goes viral after he tries to Stream Together on Twitch
Owing to her popularity, Lizzo's debut on Twitch caught the attention of many streamers on the platform. Eric "Erobb221" also tuned in to watch the singer during his ongoing marathon solving a 1,000-piece puzzle on camera.
Erobb221 tried to call the rapper on Twitch to communicate with her using the website's Streamer Together feature. A clip of the moment where the singer saw Erobb221 has gone viral, with the singer describing him as "scary" and seemingly freaking out because he was watching her stream:
"Oh my god, he's so scary. He has a scary face. Watching the game legally, oh my god he is watching me! Chat!"
Erobb221 was perplexed at the reaction and said:
"What? What do you mean?!?"
The clip went viral on the streamer-related subreddit LivestreamFail, with many viewers commenting about the way Erobb221 had supposedly "fumbled" the call:

As per stats from TwitchTracker, Lizzo streamed for about 1.6 hours and averaged 1.3K viewers on her debut stream on the Amazon-owned platform. She currently has over 37.5K followers on her verified channel.
