Twitch streamer Kai Cenat attended the Knicks vs. Celtics game on October 22, 2024, and convinced NBA Commissioner Adam Silver to jokingly announce his name as a draft pick before tipoff.
Recently, Cenat hosted his own basketball league, Little Ballers Association, on his Twitch channel, and had a big reaction after not being drafted in the top three. Even Stephen A. Smith trolled him about it, and the clip went viral.
Seemingly determined to keep his drafting dreams alive, Cenat met Silver on the court and got him to announce that he had been drafted by the New York Knicks for the 2025 season.

The NBA has been expanding its content creator collaborations and recently revealed that Kai Cenat would be doing a behind-the-scenes segment for the opening game of the 2024-25 NBA season.
Before the Knicks vs. Celtics game started, Cenat talked to people courtside and met Adam Silver. After taking a photo with him, the Twitch star asked Silver to announce on camera that he would be drafted into the NBA.
Silver seemed more than happy to oblige and shook Cenat's hand before turning to the camera and saying the Twitch star was the first draft pick of 2025. He even asked the streamer for what team:
"First pick 2025. Which team?"
Cenat chose the New York Knicks, and Silver returned to his announcement:
"For New York Knicks, my main man Kai."
Kai Cenat was thrilled to be part of a behind-the-scenes segment for the Knicks vs. Celtics game. He said it has been his lifelong dream to work for the NBA.
The streamer "quit" his content creator career for a while earlier this year to become a "professional basketballer" and host his LBA league on Twitch. However, he "retired" from professional basketball after winning the league with his team, the New York Skyscrapers.
