Twitch streamer Kai Cenat has become a commercial phenomenon since he started his career back in 2021. The production quality of his streams and event announcements has improved considerably. A testament to this is the recent NBA-style parody he did, called the Little Ballers Association (LBA). At the event, Kai hilariously participated in mock professional basketball games with children.
Part of the reason why Kai can conduct such large-scale operations is due to brand sponsorships, which made him at least $500,000 over his career according to some estimates. Recently, the American multinational fast-food chain, McDonald's, hinted at a potential collaboration with the streamer on social media.
The promotion features a photo of the classic McDonald's brown paper bag resting upon what looks like Kai Cenat's steaming setup, with his signature worn-down, taped-up, chair in the background. On X, the caption to the photo reads:
"Chat's about to pop off 10.10."
This cryptic message seemingly hints at an October 10 collaboration, perhaps through some sort of streaming event or maybe even a Kai Cenat-themed McDonald's meal.
A closer look at Kai Cenat's potential collaboration with McDonald's
Taking a closer look at the image, the "bill" on the bag says the following:
"Special item coming to a chat near you... Valid at participating McDonald's... McDonald's restaurant ####, TEL. +1 (707) 932-4826... KC#3, 10/10/2024, 12:00 P.M..."
The "KC3" reference is a nickname the streamer created for himself, which stands for Kai Cenat 3.
The bill also features a specific order, a single "Not Not A Big Mac", medium fries, and a Sprite to go along with it. The collaboration could also feature a combo that fans can buy at the fast-food chain.
McDonald's has collaborated with celebrities for special meals as part of its "Famous Orders" campaign, starting in 2020. Notable partnerships include the Travis Scott Meal (Quarter Pounder with cheese, bacon, and a Sprite), the J Balvin Meal (Big Mac and Oreo McFlurry), and the BTS Meal (Chicken McNuggets with Sweet Chili and Cajun sauces).
These collaborations have been wildly successful, with the Travis Scott Meal even causing supply shortages.
A brief look at Kai Cenat's partnership with another brand - Nike
The streamer also recently expanded his partnership with Nike by unveiling the Air Max 1 "Low Poly," a sneaker that blends real-world and digital elements, set to release through Nike’s @dotswoosh platform. This collaboration, announced earlier in 2024, positions Cenat as the first streamer to sign with Nike, reflecting the growing influence of digital creators.
The "Low Poly" sneaker, with its futuristic, pixelated design, will be available for pre-order in October 2024, further marking Kai's impact on sneaker culture and brand marketing.
