Kai Cenat's close friend and fellow Twitch streamer Ray "rayasianboy" recently made a Snapchat video discussing his experience with the face scan feature of NBA 2K25. To those unaware, the face scan feature of NBA 2K 25 allows a user to use the game's companion phone app and camera to generate an in-game character that resembles the user.
However, this feature seemed to fail rayasianboy, who shared the character generated by the process in a video with his audience. He could be heard asking his viewers:
"Oh hell no. This my face scan. Oh f**k no. What the f**k is this? Do I look like that sh**? The f**k?"
Rayasianboy says his NBA 2K25 face scan resembles OG Anunoby
NBA 2K25 has taken over the streaming community by storm since its release on September 6, 2024. Some well-known NBA 2K25 content creators had acquired the game's physical copies early, such as Kick star Adin Ross, who acquired it for himself and friends even before its official release. However, an automatic update apparently blocked users from playing the game before the early access began.
Further, the in-game face scan feature is becoming a popular meme within the NBA 2K circles, with numerous streamers coming forward to complain about its inaccurate depictions of their faces.
In a subsequent Snapchat post, Ray wrote a caption to a photo of the in-game generated character. In the caption, he claimed that the character resembled British NBA player Ogugua "OG" Anunoby:
"I look like og Aunoby (sic)."
Adin Ross encountered this issue as well while trying the face scan feature out for himself. Not only was the character generated not representative of Ross in terms of facial features, but in fact, the character seemed to be a different ethnicity entirely. Regardless, Ross decided to continue to play the game using the character.
