It's no secret that he has a crush on the pop star and even expressed his romantic interests to her (by asking her out on a date) during a collaboration stream. However, Tyla wasn't quite ready to approve Kai's proposal and ended up replying - "But we're friends though."
Today (September 4, 2024) Kai broke down in tears after Tyla unveiled her partner in the music video. To rub salt into the wounds, Tyla jocularly used 'But we friends tho' as the caption to a clip featuring a teaser of her new song on X.
