Daniel "Keemstar" has provided an update on Steven "Boogie2988's" well-being amid the recent alleged fake cancer diagnosis controversy. For those out of the loop, the Boogie2988 has been making headlines ever since Kick streamer Steven "Destiny" accused him of faking his cancer diagnosis. While reacting to the YouTuber's old video on X, the Nebraska native said:
"He is absolutely lying! What a piece of s**t. Unless he posts something in here to prove it wrong. He is faking it."
Earlier today (July 11, 2024), Destiny confronted Boogie2988 during a live podcast. Explaining why he believed the YouTube veteran had lied about his health, the political commentator said:
"When Boogie was talking about the polycythemia, he mentioned a couple of things that I thought were interesting. The first was that taking an exogenous hormone, TRT, testosterone, that caused an increase in him developing this condition. So taking testosterone will not cause you to develop a cancer. Not for this particular cancer."
Following his interaction with Destiny, Boogie2988 deactivated his official X account.
On the same day, Keemstar provided an update on the 49-year-old's well-being, claiming that he was "not suicidal" and that there was "no need for wellness checks." He went on to say that the YouTuber "agreed" to test for cancer, which will be made available to the public "sometime in the future":
"I just got off the phone with Boogie2988, he (is) not suicidal. No need for wellness checks. I can't say too much without leaking private information, but I will say that he has agreed to do (a) test for cancer at some point in the future that will be available to the public."
Keemstar announces he will not kick Boogie2988 from the Lolcow Live podcast, explains why
On July 11, 2024, Keemstar posted a 45-second video on X to announce that he would not be kicking Boogie2988 off his Lolcow Live podcast. He said:
"I'm starting to see a little campaign growing on Twitter for me to kick Boogie2988 off of Lolcow Live show because allegedly he faked having cancer. I'm not going to kick him off the show. I'm not."
According to Keemstar, Boogie2988's "punishment" was to remain on the podcast, where he would be "held accountable" for his actions:
"His punishment is being on the show where he'd be confronted and held accountable for the s**t he does! And we've been doing it since day one. In fact, this wouldn't even be happening right now if he wasn't on the show and being confronted with this. So yeah, his punishment is staying on the show."
While Boogie2988 has deactivated his X account, his primary YouTube channel, which has over 3.97 million subscribers, remains accessible.
