Kick CEO and Stake co-founder, Edward "Eddie" Craven, recently commented on Kai Cenat's promotion of gambling during his subathon, which has seen the creator garner a record-shattering number of subscribers. The entrepreneur noted that Cenat had previously declined to work with Kick, citing his not wanting to promote gambling as the reason behind the rejection.

That said, in what Craven termed a "180", Cenat recently promoted gambling, in the form of sports betting, during a segment of his subathon, leading to mixed reactions from fans.

Effectively calling him out on the matter, Craven said:

"Even dude, Kai Cenat was always having a go, like, 'I would never touch Kick because of gambling' and now, he's advertising gambling. Like, brother. You can't say that, what're you doing? Like, that's a 180 there man. I f**k with you but like, you- What're you doing?"

Kick is known to be closely affiliated with Stake, with Eddie Craven being a co-founder of both companies. Many streamers, such as Félix "xQc," who have signed with Kick, are often seen hosting Slots & Gambling broadcasts on the platform, and using Stake's online casino game catalog in the process.

That said, Twitch streamers, such as Imane "Pokimane", have been huge proponents of restrictions around the promotion of gambling on Twitch. This is mainly due to concerns regarding the impressionable younger audience that makes up a sizable chunk of the Amazon-based website's users.

Kai Cenat's recent broadcast saw him promote Underdog Fantasy, a fantasy sports betting platform, to his audience of the Mafiathon 2 subathon, which recently made Twitch history by crossing 700,000 concurrent subscribers.

Pokimane has been a long-time critic of Kick, often commenting on it during her broadcasts, stating that she would not join the platform even if she was offered $10 million.
