Kick co-founder Ed "Eddie" Craven has responded to the recent controversy surrounding certain Kick streamers. For context, TwitchCon 2024 was recently held in San Diego, California. During the event, Kick content creators such as DBR666 and Ragnesh "N3on" garnered attention for their controversial actions.
While DBR666 was temporarily banned from the Stake-backed platform after harassing prominent personalities such as Felix "xQc," Nick "Nmplol," Wake Wilder, and Yousef "Fousey," N3on was accused of misgendering a Twitch streamer, and his official Twitch channel eventually got banned.
Earlier today (September 24, 2024), journalist Rod "Slasher" commented on the situation, claiming that Kick streamers attending TwitchCon while "explicitly being annoying, obnoxious, and insufferable" does not "instill confidence" in the platform:
"Going to TwitchCon to stream on another platform while explicitly being as annoying, obnoxious, and insufferable as possible does not instill confidence on why people should stream there instead of Twitch."
In response, Ed Craven stated that the "actions of a few individuals" did not represent Kick. Furthermore, the Australian billionaire claimed that "multiple accounts have been suspended" for violating the livestreaming platform's "IRL streaming policies":
"TwitchCon is an incredible event that brings together creators from all platforms, and we’re grateful to Twitch for giving our community the chance to participate. However, the actions of a few individuals don’t reflect the broader platform, and multiple accounts have been suspended for violating our IRL streaming policies."
Ed Craven added:
"We're continuously working on reviewing policy and doing better, especially when it comes to such great events like Twitchcon, DH (DreamHack), and others."
"You don't go up to somebody and suck on their nipple" - xQc comments on certain Kick streamers' actions at TwitchCon 2024 in San Diego
During a livestream on September 24, 2024, xQc reacted to Ed Craven's aforementioned X post. According to the French-Canadian personality, things were "off the rail" when it came to certain Kick streamers' actions at the convention. He went on to say that police should have been involved because "actual crimes" were allegedly committed:
"It's not even about, 'Oh, dude, we can talk about Kick this and Kick that,' and I'll be with you 100%. Because this is with all Kick streamers. Right? Being a bunch of f**k lords. But we should just take this double time and just get the police involved, man, when people do actual f**king crimes, and do dumb s**t like that. Dude, you get the f**king police involved! Okay? That will get the message across, one. And two, that'll 'ban' everybody on the platform or who the f**k they are, brother."

xQc then shed light on some of the things that happened at TwitchCon 2024 San Diego:
"It's not some pu**y s**t. You don't go up to somebody and suck on their nipple, brother. You don't f**king do that s**t! Okay? It's just something you don't do, man! I saw a dude pushing, like, another dude on the train or whatever. What the f**k is that about?"
In addition to xQc, YouTuber Ludwig has also weighed in on the controversy. In a post on X dated September 24, 2024, Ludwig described the situation as "insane" after seeing videos of Kick streamers harassing people at TwitchCon.
