A Kick streamer named Dumbdumbjeez has found himself facing some serious backlash after a rather questionable prank on a homeless woman during one of his streams. For context, the streamer met the stranger and decided to take her on a "date." When their bill arrived, the streamer was seen fleeing the restaurant, leaving the woman to deal with the situation alone.
This incident quickly went viral across X.com and garnered attention from some of Kick's co-founders. As a result, Dumbdumbjeez is now banned. Bijan Tehrani (@BijanTehrani) replied to the incident by labeling the streamer "pathetic." He further said that Kick would pay $50K to the homeless lady if people could find her.
"This pathetic and now banned streamer did this while trying to win a contest for $50k. I’m disappointed this happened on Kick and we’ve got $50k for this lady if anyone can connect us."
Kick CEO Ed Craven calls out Dumbdumbjeez after he was seen abandoning homeless woman
Ed Craven (@StakeEddie), CEO and co-founder of Kick, also responded to the prank by Dumbdumbjeez. The controversy quickly gained traction on X.com, prompting Craven to reply, who reiterated the offer to the woman.
"Heartbreaking to see. Hope we can find her quickly and she can put the money to good use."
Bijan Tehrani also responded to the streamer’s ban, expressing that his DMs are open to anyone who can provide details about the homeless woman.
"Let’s find her. DM’s are open."
What did the streamer say?
Dumbdumbjeez has since responded to the controversy on his YouTube channel, explaining that he was simply participating in a challenge posed by fellow streamer Sam Pepper, and his intentions were only to create a humorous clip.
"Sam Pepper's challenge was to find a date with a stranger and meet the stranger. Just to get a funny clip out of it."
He further stated that the clip was taken out of context and, since his ban from Kick, he can no longer participate in Sam Pepper's challenge. He also claimed that the entire incident was scripted.
