Kick's hands-off approach, compared to Twitch, has attracted high-profile creators like Adin Ross and xQc. However, this leniency has led to various incidents where streamers have pushed the boundaries of acceptable content. One such instance occurred on September 5, when streamer Shoovy found himself in trouble with the law.

Along with a group of friends, he allegedly infiltrated an abandoned military base and got detained in the process. The streamer broadcasted his detention to almost 1,500 concurrent live viewers:

The clip above features policemen yelling, while dogs bark and flashlights are being aimed at the streamer and his crew. Shoovy urged the cops not to shoot:

"Don't shoot us cuh."

Trespassing on military property falls under 18 U.S. Code 1382, which classifies what Shoovy allegedly did as illegal. The police were upset and directed the group, shouting orders and warnings:

"You! Come back here, you'll get bit by the dog!"

Shoovy cooperated, and so did his friends, who were visibly upset. The group was then asked to get on their knees and the streamer was forced to end the broadcast.

Shoovy banned on Kick after getting into trouble with the police

Like Shoovy, multiple streamers from Kick have been detained or arrested, which alludes to the platform's "edgier" side.

Streams involving gambling, which constitutes a significant portion of Kick's content, as well as instances of risky or offensive behavior, have raised concerns about the platform's impact on younger or vulnerable audiences.

Following the incident, Shoovy was promptly banned from Kick. This is the second suspension faced by the streamer in 24 hours, as he was previously banned due to an undisclosed violent act during a prior stream. He spoke on the unfortunate series of events in a post on X:

"Banned and arrested within 24 hours of being unbanned, I'm cooked."

Kick has quickly gained a reputation as a wild streaming platform due to its relaxed moderation policies and the controversial behavior of some of its most prominent streamers. Notably, it has attempted to moderate problematic conduct through features like the "IRL" and "Chat Roulette" categories.

Shoovy also participated in Ice Poseidon's Hunger Games, which was a battle-royale-style competition for a cash prize. Players would use weapons such as batons and paintball guns to eliminate others. Although the streamer did not win, this event exposed him to a much wider audience.
