Kick unbans streamer hours after her channel was taken down for burning the United States flag

Kick streamer ShakoMako's channel was taken down on November 6, 2024, after a controversial incident during a livestream, in which she burned a United States flag in the wake of Donald Trump winning the 2024 US presidential election. However, hours after the incident went viral, her channel was unbanned, sparking strong reactions on social media.

In the footage shared online, ShakoMako is seen setting the US flag on fire and making statements that many found offensive, including phrases like "Burn America."

The Kick streamer did not appear to be in the US at the time of the broadcast. She has been streaming from the UK lately, as evidenced by her previous livestreams from London.

ShakoMako has expressed plans to visit the United States in the future, as indicated by the sub-goal visible on her Kick stream. At the time of writing, her channel has been unbanned on the platform, with all of her past livestreams available once more.

ShakoMako has not apologized for burning the US flag, responding to the controversy with this post on X (formerly Twitter):

"Apparently, u can't use fire to disinfect the sole of ur shoes and then wipe it clean with a cloth"

There have been a variety of reactions to the results of the 2024 United States presidential election. Some content creators, like Adin Ross and Nickmercs, have expressed support for Donald Trump’s second term, while others, like xQc, have publicly opposed his re-election.

IRL Kick streamer ShakoMako reacted to the news by setting the US flag on fire in a broadcast on the platform.

ShakoMako said as she burned the flag:

"Burn! Burn America, burn! You want me in your country after everything? You want me in your country and not be in my favor?

"F**k you America. F**k you America, you deserve nothing but hate."

The clip went viral on social media with many US citizens calling out ShakoMako's actions. Some even asked Kick to permanently ban her channel.

However, Kick unbanned ShakoMako hours after the news of her channel's ban started circulating on social media.
