Lil Tay reveals a heart tumor diagnosis, official account on X shares echo a year after death hoax

YouTuber turned singer Lil Tay (real name Tay Tian) has revealed a heart tumor diagnosis. The news was shared on her official X account in a post dated September 12, 2024, accompanied by a short video of an echo (echocardiogram) as supposed proof. The announcement comes roughly a year after a viral death hoax concerning the singer.

The account had previously shared cryptic posts announcing that there would be a tragic announcement concerning the 17-year-old internet personality soon. The news that Lil Tay had been diagnosed with a life-threatening heart tumor has gone viral on social media.

The official post calls on her followers to pray for her well-being, stating:

"Tay has been diagnosed with a life threatening heart tumor. We ask kindly for everyone’s love and prayers."

According to Cleaveland Clinic's official website, cardiac or heart tumors can be either cancerous or non-cancerous. While Lil Tay's account did not specify the type of tumor, most primary heart tumors are non-cancerous, with myxoma being the most common in adults, and rhabdomyoma the most common in children.

In the clip, a man's voice, probably that of a doctor or healthcare worker, appears to be commenting on the echo of the singer's heart. The man points to a mass that can be seen in the scans and claims that they are concerned about a "bubble":

"There is a bubble moving around on it. And the other view made it look like that it's part of something that has a bubble moving around on it. The thing that worries us is that bubble moving."

In a subsequent post, it was announced that she had been admitted into an ICU.

For those unaware, an August 2023 post from her official Instagram account claimed that the singer had passed away. 24 hours later, Lil Tay confirmed that she was alive. Within a couple of months, a huge scandal erupted, with her father being accused of lying about it on social media.
