During his comeback stream on Twitch, Ali "Myth" has claimed that he was paid $4 million total by YouTube for the two years he streamed on the Google-owned platform. The content creator's contract expired earlier this year and now he has returned to Twitch for the Fortnite OG launch on December 6, 2024.
Myth had already announced that he was returning to Twitch after a brief hiatus, owing to his YouTube contract expiring in August 2024. However, Ali is making headlines now after revealing how much YouTube offered him to stream on the platform. After going live on Twitch to play Fortnite OG, Myth explained that he was paid $2 million per year as per his deal:
"For two years, alright f**k it I am just going to say it and stop being a pu**y! Alright, for two years YouTube gave the boy four million motherf**king dollars!"
Myth tries to get the Fortnite OG squad back and calls Hamlinz while streaming on Twitch
Myth came out of his streaming break on the day EPIC released Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 1. The content creator is known for his Fortnite streams and gameplay from back in the day and purposefully timed his return to Twitch on the day the new game mode dropped.
For those unaware, in 2022, the streamer had left Twitch after signing an exclusive deal with YouTube. At the time, many content creators had done the same. However, over the last year, it appears more and more streamers such as Fuslie, Sykkuno, and DrLupo have come back to the Amazon-owned platform.
With the OG game mode's release, Myth tried to get his old group back. To that end, he tried calling his former TSM mate Hamlinz. Old fans will remember when Myth used to team up with fellow streamers Hamlinz and Daequan Loco and dominate Fortnite lobbies on Twitch.
However, much to his and the fans' dismay, it seems that his attempts to revive the OG squad did not bear any results, as Hamlinz did not pick up the phone. Myth even posted his failed call to his old TSM teammate on X, with the clip garnering hundreds of thousands of views within hours.
Many fans expressed their disappointment, replying to the post. X user @EternalGlo83887 lamented Hamlinz's inactivity on the gaming and streaming scene, writing:
"It’s genuinely sad asf hamz is easily the funniest streamer of all time and I used to love watching this dude for hours, he’s the reason I even watch streamers now. I can’t wrap my mind around why he wouldn’t want to stream when he looks like he’s always having so much fun."
Amid many YouTube streamers seemingly returning to Twitch, Ludwig Ahgren recently announced that his contract with the platform has expired. That said, the popular streamer expressed doubt about returning to Twitch.
