Popular live streamer Ludwig Ahgren is back on Twitch after his three-year contract with YouTube ended in November 2024. Ahgren left the Amazon-owned platform at the height of his popularity in November 2021 and has been regularly streaming there till now. Known for playing a variety of games, he also announced a week-long League of Legends marathon on his return.
Ludwig has been quite open about his YouTube contract ending, publicly talking about his future on social media. Earlier this month, the streamer had explained that he was in a bit of a dilemma about whether to continue streaming on YouTube, move to Twitch, or go down the multi-streaming route. He had also rejected the notion that he would sign with other platforms such as Kick or Rumble.
As of December 8, it seems that the content creator has made a decision. In a post on X, Ahgren announced his return to Twitch and that he will be doing the League of Legends marathon titled "League Week" with a full-blown trailer with the caption:
"After 3 year I’m back on Twitch. League week starts in one hour"
Ludwig explains why he can't multi-stream the League of Legends marathon on YouTube
Before his three-year stint at YouTube, Ludwig was one of the most popular streamers on Twitch and for a time held the record for the most number of concurrent subscribers on the platform before being dethroned by others. Currently, the record is held by Kai Cenat who has extended the margin a lot by becoming the first person to cross the 500K sub mark and ended his Mafiathon 2 marathon with over 700K subscribers to his name.
This is not to say that Ludwig was not doing well on YouTube and was the #10th most-watched streamer on the platform according to Streams Charts for November 2024. What's more, his 1.73 million hours watched stat puts Ahgren as the #2 English-speaking content creator behind IShowSpeed.
Naturally, after Ahgren announced that he would be doing the League of Legends marathon for a week on Twitch, many wondered whether he would be multi-streaming the event on YouTube. However, the streamer has clarified that it would be a Twitch exclusive, claiming a 100+ hour-long stream is not easy on the platform.
However, this does not mean that he will not be multi-streaming in the future. Ludwig is not the only YouTube streamer to recently make a comeback to Twitch. Earlier this month Myth returned to the Amazon-owned platform on December 7 after his contract with YouTube expired.
