Ludwig and The Yard raises $224,000 on their LA Wildfire charity Twitch stream

Twitch streamer Ludwig and co-hosts of his podcast show, The Yard, have raised $224,000 for the Los Angeles wildfires, which ravaged a large part of the city and surrounding areas in California. The Yard raised this amount through a special "Rock-a-thon" livestream hosted on Ludwig's Twitch channel.

Announcing the amount of money they had raised by the end of the broadcast, Ludiwg exclaimed:

"And we raised two hundred and twenty four thousand dollars total. Thank you everyone who donated during this stream we appreciate it very much."

The Yard is a podcast show that features Ludwig alongside his manager Anthony "Slime," Aiden Calvin, and Nick Vercillo. During the special broadcast to raise money for the LA Wildfires, the group performed songs from Rock Band 3, a rhythm game dating back to 2010. The game allows players to use special instrument controllers that mimic real instruments like the guitar, keyboard, and drums.

For the charity livestream, Ludwig revealed that the group collectively played over eighty-three individual Rock Band 3 songs, alongside nearly a dozen other custom songs. The livestream lasted for a total of twelve hours.

After Ludwig announced the sum of money that the group had raised through the livestream, Ludwig's co-host Aiden Calvin took the opportunity to crack a joke:

"We'll do everything we can to use your money to make the fires bigger."

Ludwig promptly clarified:

"We are not going to do that!"
