Kick streamer MikeSmallsJr, who went viral a couple of days ago for broadcasting from Florida in the middle of the devastating storm, has revealed that Adin Ross has sent him $10,000 to chase Hurricane Milton while livestreaming it on the platform.
For context, Adin Ross had previously announced that he would be giving $70,000 to some Kick streamers who can chase the hurricane on their channels. MikeSmallsJr had already made a name for himself chasing storms for going live in the middle of Hurricane Helene and undertook the challenge on his channel only to get disappointed when Adin announced that it was only for certain creators and that others should get to safety.
At the time, MikeSmallsJr was quite upset with Adin Ross for seemingly rescinding the challenge and claimed he had risked his life to feed his family. However, it seems Adin had a change of heart. In a post on X, MikeSmallsJr has revealed Ross sent him $10,000.
"Looks like he’s a man of his word": Kick streamer MikeSmallsJr shares screenshot of $10K gift from Adin Ross for livestreaming during Hurricane Milton
On October 17, MikeSmallsJr shared a screenshot of a cryptocurrency transaction worth about $10,000 claiming it was sent by Kick streamer Adin Ross (who also happens to be a part-owner of the platform) as a reward for chasing the storm in Florida.
In the captions, he acknowledged that many viewers thought Adin would not be sending him the money but claimed he was a man of his word:
"Received 1$10K from @adinross for doing the hurricane challenge last week! Looks like he’s a man of his word….some of y’all were so sure he wasn’t gonna pay me."
MikeSmallsJr's positive attitude towards Ross was quite the opposite of how the IRL streamer had reacted upon initially finding out that the latter was only willing to pay two Kick streamers, Sambond and Sweatergxd. For those unaware, the latter two received $70K.
In the clip, MikeSmallsJr cussed out Ross while streaming from the middle of Hurricane Milton and even accused him of being a scammer:
"I am out here risking my life to feed my family and you bail on me like that? Ni**a f**k you! F**k that ni**a. Ni**a just scammed me, that's f**ked up."
Around the same time, another Kick streamer by the name of Shoovy was arrested by Sarasota County Police for breaking and entering a condo during Hurricane Miltone while trying to do Adin Ross's hurricane challenge.
