Prominent internet personality Charlie "MoistCr1TiKaL" has revealed his earnings on the two popular live streaming platforms — Twitch and YouTube. On December 14, 2024, the Florida native uploaded a YouTube video titled, Twitch vs Youtube Streaming Revenue.
In the 13-minute feature, MoistCr1TiKaL talked about the pros and cons of both platforms, claiming that Twitch provides a "much more interactive chat experience," while YouTube offers a smoother, higher quality live streaming experience with a rewind function.
The streamer then revealed how much money he made during his "most profitable" Twitch broadcast. Disclosing that he made $11,170 on July 3, 2022, during a 13-hour-42-minute livestream, MoistCr1TiKaL stated:
"It was in 2022 when Moist Esports won the Rocket League Major. The Spring Major. Still one of the best moments I've ever had streaming. I peaked at 75,000 live viewers. It was a very long stream that I did, and it took home $11.7k for that whole stream. Roughly 2,000 subs, but most of it came through ads, and most of those subs were Primes."
Moments later, the 30-year-old revealed that his Starfield livestream on YouTube was the "most profitable" one on the Google-owned platform, earning him $84,003.23:
"This Starfield video actually made $84,000! $84,000 for a four-hour stream, just playing mid, poop, a** Starfield. This was like an insomnia, try not to fall asleep challenge, basically. $84,000! And it's not because the 31,000 viewers, all of a sudden, started buying memberships or donating tons and tons of money. This wasn't the biggest documented case of credit card fraud and money laundering that the internet's ever seen. In fact, the livestream itself made $1.6k on ads, and the other $78,000 came from the VOD (Video on Demand), and the ads that played during the VOD."
MoistCr1TiKaL says live streaming has become a "very saturated market" and people require "a lot of luck" to succeed
At the end of the YouTube video mentioned above, MoistCr1TiKaL claimed people venturing into the live streaming industry will require "a lot of luck" to succeed because the market has become "very saturated." He elaborated:
"Regardless of what platform you're on, it's a very saturated market. So, it's going to take a lot of luck. I've said this since the beginning of time, I'm not special, I got lucky. You could be making the best content the world's ever seen, turbo cheek-clapping, banger, heater after heater, but at the end of the day, it's all about having that one lucky break that puts it in front of people's peepers and gets them interested. The only thing you have control over is the consistency."

MoistCr1TiKaL isn't the only popular streamer who has recently revealed how much money he made from his online content. On December 10, 2024, Zack "Asmongold" revealed that he made $90,057 in a few days after his alternate channel, Zackrawrr, was partnered on the platform.
